My name is Charlene Korrell, CEO of Kiowa County Hospital District (Weisbrod Memorial County Hospital). I am writing to you today to request a donation to our infrastructure upgrade project. The hospital was built in the 1930’s with wing additions to the main building in the 1960’s. A mechanical upgrade to the facility was performed approximately 20 years ago and this equipment is now obsolete and starting to malfunction. The hospital is in dire need of a holistic infrastructure upgrade to continue to maintain current standards of care.

We recently applied for a DOLA (Department of Local Affairs) grant which requires a 50% match. We do not have enough cash savings to meet the 50% match. This is where we can use your help. The total projected project is $1,456,750. Our match will be $728,375. This project will enhance the livability of our region by upgrading the infrastructure to keep the building in good condition to serve staff, patients and the community through the services offered. It will maintain value to keep qualified staff and attract patients and visitors to our community. The hospital and clinic are the anchor for the town of Eads, and Eads is the anchor for the entire County. This proposed project assures its continued viability in a number of ways and supports the very core of the area’s existence.

Should you feel led to donate to our project, please make your check payable to Kiowa County Hospital District (KCHD) and mail to PO Box 817, Eads, CO 81036. Your donation is tax deductible. If you would like more information or have questions, please call 719-438-5401.

If checks are made to KCEDF (Kiowa County Economic Development Foundation) donors would be eligible for a 25% state tax break for an enterprise zone project. Contact Jan Richards for questions, 719-438-2200.

With Kind Regards,

Charlene Korrell, CEO
Kiowa County Hospital District
